Larry Bennett

(He/His)

I'm Larry Bennett, also known as the Cat Manny. I have been an animal lover as far back as I can remember, and I've always had a special place in my heart for cats.

Ever since my adolescence, it's been an honor and a privilege to care for CB (Cat Bennett), Colonel, Bootsie, Big Bug, Bitty, Gizzy, Glovie, and Motor, who is currently 20 years old.

I've considered them all a big part of my family as much as anyone. Each one a gift, they have all taught me the true meaning of friendship, compassion and love...and for that, I am grateful.

I am also a professional musician and teacher, audio engineer, computer tech, web developer and digital graphic designer.

Mission Statement

So why am I called the Cat Manny? That's easy. I've always believed that I have an obligation to provide the best possible care for my kidd-ies. After all, they give us unconditional love at all times, right? So what better way to say thank you, than to give them the best care they deserve.

I've had cats in my life for several decades now. Been to countless vets over the years, and have also taken the time to conduct my own research in an attempt to learn whatever I could to help understand their needs. Especially when they've developed a chronic illness!

Unfortunately, I had been getting conflicting information from not only my own research, but from the vets I put my faith into. I have been overwhelmed with misinformation over the years. It has been extremely frustrating, sometimes to the point of feeling disenchanted with veterinary medicine and the big pet food companies.

With experience as my guide, I implemented a new treatment approach that I had formulated over the years for my cat's Glovie and Motor. Glovie had CKD, hyperthyroidism, and in the end developed pancreatitis. I was able to prolong his life for a few years before the pancreatitis proved way too much for his precious little body to handle. His was a terrible loss in 2022. Motor has benefited the most from my newer treatment approach, and at age 20 is thriving despite his battle with CKD and hyperthyroidism.

In summary, the goals of this website are twofold: First, I want to help debunk the myths when it comes to treating certain illnesses like chronic kidney disease in cats. And second, I want to save you, a fellow caregiver, the time, energy, and heartache that I endured along the road to assimilating the information necessary, to help prolong your cat's lives.

Dedication

I dedicate this website to all of my cats, both past and present. And especially to my wife Lori, who has supported my quest for the truth over the years.

Needless to say, to all those caring cat parents who are looking to enhance their cats quality of life during illness, I dedicate this website to you as well.

Based on my years of experience, my hope is that I help you to feel more empowered after considering my enlightened approach to your cat's treatment with chronic illness, etc.

Thank you.
